Premium grade anti-slip tape providing a high-traction surface for steps, ramps & walkways
- do it once and do it right
For the 'best value' solution, choose high quality TALON™ tapes & follow our installation guidance below
Anti-Slip Tapes and Treads should be applied to clean, dry and relatively smooth surfaces. Dusty, soiled and porous surfaces should be thoroughly cleaned and prepared with anti-slip floor primer to ensure the best adhesion and ultimately product longevity. Edge sealer is also recommended for best results to prevent water / chemical ingress.
Application is best carried out when the ambient temperature is above 10oC. We recommend the use of a seam roller to apply even pressure to achieve the required 'tack' / initial adhesion. Products can be walked on immediately. Adhesive bond reaches full strength after 24 hours.
Our Tapes & Treads have good levels of conformability and can be applied to patterned / diamond tread surfaces and stair plates. A rubber mallet should be used to help form the tape to the surface.

The adhesive on our anti-slip tapes is very strong and the product is typically used as a permanent soultion - even after only 10 days you may need to use a scraper and some appropriate 'thinner' or cleaning solution to lift any adhesive residue.
Not really suitable for application to tarmac, you might get away with it as a very temporary solution if the tarmac is super-clean, smooth and has stopped releasing the oily residue - but as a clear piece of advice we'd have to say it's not suitable. GRP strips might be more suited https://www.safetybuyer.com/floor-safety/anti-slip-stair-nosing/1m-non-slip-grp-strips.html
I'd probably suggest the conformable tapes / treads would be more appropriate in this situation as they have an aluminium foil layer and form to the pattern better, though the conformable tapes don't have the same selection of colours as the standard tapes.
